TELUS Crop Management Migration FAQs

What data can be migrated?
The migration process from Gatekeeper Desktop to TELUS Crop Management will transfer the entire business structure (Grower – Holding – Farm – Field) for up to 10 years, as well as transfer any soil sampling inspections that have been carried out during that period. Please note that pricing information will not be migrated.

Will I still have access to my historic records?
As Gatekeeper is a desktop software program, you will have access to your historical records.

What will the cost be?
Upon your move, you will not incur any charges until your renewal date. Your subsequent renewal fee will align with your current agreement. We are committed to regularly reviewing our offerings to ensure we continue providing competitively priced products that satisfy our customers’ requirements.

How many users can I have?
TELUS Crop Management includes five user logins, with the option to add more for an additional fee.

What if I change my mind? Can I go back to my old system if I don’t like TELUS Crop Management?
We’re confident that TELUS Crop Management will help you optimise your data and your farm’s success. If at any time you encounter an issue, our UK-based support team are here to help.

Does this mean you are going to end my current product?
Gatekeeper and TELUS Farm Management do not have an end-of-life date currently.

Where will my data be held when I move to TCM?
Your data will be held in the cloud on secure servers.

What happens with my other existing contracts, i.e., Accounts and Hardware?
TELUS Agriculture is committed to providing the best in farm business technology, and with the launch of TELUS Crop Management, we’re ensuring you stay ahead with a modern, efficient payroll solution. Customers with financial or hardware products and services will continue to have access to unrivalled support alongside upgraded payroll support services.

What is the transfer timeline?
Migration will start from mid-2025.

Our current system works fine. Why change?
Desktop technology is limited in its ability to provide you with relevant features and mobile capabilities to meet your everyday modern business needs. We feel this is something TELUS Crop Management, as a cloud-based system, can deliver more efficiently from end to end, along with coming with many benefits for you and your business, including:

1. Allows users to easily share farm, field, and crop data with relevant stakeholders, promoting better communication and informed decisions.
2. Streamlines communication between farmers, agronomists, and contractors, facilitating more efficient collaboration.

We don’t have time to learn a new system.
TELUS Crop Management has been designed to be very easy and intuitive to use. You’ll benefit from in-system live chat help and customers who have migrated have found they save time since moving to TELUS Crop Management. It allows you to work from anywhere and gives access to other members of your business.

What if something goes wrong during the migration?
The migration has been designed to be as seamless as possible and allow you to get started on TELUS Crop Management with minimum effort and impact on your business. However, if you do encounter an issue during the migration, you can contact the support team by live chat, email or telephone. We’ll also be offering virtual migration sessions and paid training for anyone needing extra assistance.
