We’re delighted to confirm our first LIVE submission to HMRC for Digital VAT has been completed successfully.
Anne Cianchi, MTD Project Consultant at Farmplan says, “On Friday 3rd August we submitted our first Live MTD for VAT submission, with one of our volunteer beta testers.
HMRC have just confirmed that everything was successfully received their end, so congratulations to our development team for creating a simple and easy to use solution that not only meets all the requirements of HMRC but also the needs of our more complex businesses, many of which need to amalgamate figures from several datasets before submission. We will now continue this testing process as HMRC open it up to more businesses.”
The submission was undertaken with a volunteer beta tester, Rhiannon Shackell from Cowbridge Compost Limited in Glamorgan, Wales. We asked Rhiannon what she thought of the process so far;
How did you find the experience of being a Beta tester for MTD for VAT?
“It was quite exciting, we had a few issues initially with contacting the HMRC website but as soon as they were resolved everything went through very easily. Farmplan provided fantastic support throughout this process and HMRC support was readily available too.”
How do you think this will affect your VAT process in future?
“The MTD submission process seems really easy and straight forward it just takes a couple of clicks to submit a return which is really simple. I also really like the dashboard which shows all the information relating to your VAT returns including date submitted and submission receipt.”
How important was it to you that you did not have to switch software provider to make your MTD for VAT submissions?
“It was extremely important to us not to have to change software providers. We really like the Farmplan software and find their support excellent so it was great to see them develop their software to meet the needs of this new legislation.”
