With IRIS retiring the Earnie platform in March 2026, we’re excited to introduce TELUS Farm Payroll — our new payroll solution, built on IRIS’s next-generation technology and backed by our team’s deep understanding of the agricultural sector. TELUS Farm Payroll brings enhanced features, increased automation, and the flexibility today’s farms need — all while being supported by the same trusted TELUS Agriculture team. We’ll provide you with a clear and fully supported upgrade path to ensure a seamless migration.

What data can be migrated to TELUS Farm Payroll?

When moving from Earnie to TELUS Farm Payroll, you can use the IRIS Payroll Migration Tool to migrate your data and system settings in a matter of minutes. Click here to see what data can be migrated.

The migration of data is all automated with the Migration Tool, so there is no need to worry about losing important data.

When can you upgrade?

Starting in September 2025, and in line with your contract renewal, you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade seamlessly to TELUS Farm Payroll.

Will I still have access to all my TELUS Agriculture services through one provider?

Yes. This upgrade enhances our comprehensive farm management solution while maintaining our commitment to you. We’ll continue to be your single point of contact for all services — crop management, farm accounting, hardware, and now your upgraded payroll system, TELUS Farm Payroll.The only change is your payroll service transitioning from Earnie to TELUS Farm Payroll by 31st March 2026. You’ll still work with the same expert sales and support teams across all our products.

What happens if I haven’t upgraded by 31 March 2026?

To ensure uninterrupted service and continued support, it’s essential to upgrade to TELUS Farm Payroll before 31 March 2026, as Earnie Payroll will no longer be supported beyond this date.

What if I’ve already been invoiced for Earnie services extending beyond March 2026?

If you have already been invoiced for Earnie services extending beyond March 2026, your access will be honoured up until the March 2026 end-of-life date, after which your service will be automatically transferred to TELUS Farm Payroll to ensure continuity.

Why are you doing this?

We believe our new solution, TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll, is now best placed to meet your needs, as we work to evolve the product to keep pace with changes in technology and legislation.

Pricing – how much will this cost me?

Once your contract for Earnie is due for renewal, you will be able to upgrade to TELUS Farm Payroll. If you are interested in upgrading now, please complete this form. When you move there will be nothing to pay until renewal date, and your next renewal fee will be in line with current arrangements. We will continue to review to ensure we provide competitively priced products that meet our customers needs.

What’s the transfer timeline?

You have the opportunity to migrate you upon your renewal, with a cut-off date of March 2026.

If I call the support line during this time who will answer my queries?

If you need help with Earnie or TELUS Farm Payroll please continue to contact the support team. We will be contacting you prior to your next Earnie renewal to discuss upgrading you to TELUS Farm Payroll, there is no need to contact us.

When will support end?

Support for Earnie ends in March 2026. If your renewal date is approaching and you’d like to discuss your upgrade options, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly via email. We’re here to support your transition when you’re ready. Until the end of your current Earnie contract the product support and updates will remain available to you.

I don’t want to move to TELUS Farm Payroll – what happens now?

What happens with my other existing contracts i.e. Farm software and hardware support?

TELUS Agriculture is committed to providing the best in farm business technology, and with the launch of TELUS Farm Payroll, we’re ensuring you stay ahead with a modern, efficient payroll solution. Customers with financial, cropping or hardware products and services will continue to have access to unrivalled support alongside upgraded payroll support services.

Am I able to move any of my data to TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll?

You will be able to make use of the Payroll Migration Tool, guiding you on how to migrate your data and system settings, or you will be able to request assisted migration for a one-off fee.

What will happen to Earnie after my support ends or I move to TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll?

The final Farmplan update to Earnie will be for the tax year 25/26. It is recommended to run both Earnie and TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll for the first month after migration, which is allowed by the one month grace period. Following that Earnie data will become read only on your current computer, allowing for legislative requirements for the next six years. We recommend that customers make a backup of their Earnie data, and as a minimum print/export the following information:
P11 Working Sheet All Employees Week 1 – 53 and Month 1 – 12
History Summary All Payments Week 1 – 53 and Month 1 – 12
P30 Summary

When will my account be moved?

You have the opportunity to migrate to TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll upon your renewal. If you have already been invoiced for Earnie services extending beyond March 2026, your access will be honored up until the March 2026 end-of-life date, after which your service will be automatically transferred to TELUS Farm Payroll to ensure continuity.

What if I change my mind? Can I switch back to the old system if I don’t like TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll?

TELUS Agriculture will not be offering support for Earnie from your next renewal. The migration of data from Earnie to TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll is a one-way process, with the one month grace period allowing you to complete your first month payroll in both systems.

Does this mean that you’re going to end of life my product?

The last update for Earnie will cover the tax year 25/26, which will be available to customers until the end of their support contract. We are offering the chance to upgrade to TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll at your next renewal.

Will there continue to be Earnie updates until 31 March 2026?

TELUS Agriculture will be sharing updates for Earnie to cover the 25/26 tax year, including any bug fixes or budget updates required. These will be available to download from our website for customers still on support until March 2026.

Where will my data be held once I move to TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll?

Security and privacy are important to us. TELUS Farm Payroll Payroll is hosted on the Microsoft Windows Azure platform and the data is hosted in the UK, with the main data-centre located in the south of the UK. They have a backup / fall back data-centre located in the west of the UK. More information is available here.
