What is the difference between Farmplan SPS and the RPA free version

There are some key differences and benefits that SPS Planner offers beyond the RPA online system:

Multi-cropping

You can mass select groups of fields to crop in one operation rather than doing one field at a time. This offers significant time savings where a large number of land parcels are farmed.

Error-correction

SPS Planner will cross-check previous years' entries with the version under review and highlight differences. Instant checks will help to avoid mistaken entries and help ensure that the SPS application rules are not broken. You can run a full validation check whenever you like without committing to making a submission until you are ready.

Real crop names

We provide a full list of crops with suggested land use codes, automatically filling in the correct columns associated with that land use code. This also helps to provide more meaningful management information when you are looking at the cropping details for a field.

Record-keeping

Not only will the package hold and store all previous applications made by the software, on a year-by-year basis, but it will also provide a range of historical cropping reports (for example by field, crop and land use codes) which can be filtered and sorted to suit your own management requirements.

Data-import

If you already have your own spreadsheet-based management files (e.g. in Microsoft Excel format) then that data can be imported directly into the Farmplan SPS program.

Multi-site amalgamation

If your farming operations take place on a number of different sites or holdings, you can use the software to amalgamate all the claims involved into one submission.

Work off-line

You can access and edit SPS Planner without a constant internet connection. This means that once you have downloaded the required data, via the internet, from the RPA's database you can then work through the forms offline. When you have completed the forms you can simply send it back to the RPA when an internet connection is available.

Proof of application

An instant receipt is generated when the application is made. This contains the date and time of submission and is generated in addition to the confirmation email sent from the RPA. A copy of this receipt can be sent with any additional documentation allowing the RPA to easily cross reference them with your submission. In addition the exact file that has been submitted is stored within your data and could be referenced as proof in case of any subsequent disputes about your claim.

SPS Planner, for use in England, is available from just £195+VAT. To find out more please contact us on 01594 545000.
