Registering cattle movements

Have you lost out on a percentage of your Single Farm Payments because cattle movements haven't been registered in time?

Cattle farmers that do not register movements within a 3 day period can lose up to 5% of their Single Farm Payments, even if it's just 1 late movement that hasn't been registered.

If you have undergone an RPA inspection in recent times there is every chance that you will have had to show your latest movement records and demonstrate that they match with those records held by BCMS.

It's easy to put off registering a movement until you get the kill sheets or invoices back so that you can record the full details of the sale all in one go. However, it's imperative that the movement is registered within the 3 day period to ensure you don't get penalised.

Cattle Management software from Farmplan reminds users that an animal movement needs to be registered through it's home page summary screen.  A simple electronic cross check function means the software can also tell users whether the animal records held in the software match with those held by BCMS.

If you use the cattle software for 'Planned sales' the movement can still be notified and then the sale data updated at a later date if required.
